The Tierney Sutton Band performs tonight, August 12th at 7:30 pm at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, as part of the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival.

The Tierney Sutton Band is celebrating its fourth consecutive Grammy Nomination for “Best Vocal Jazz Album.” Their ninth album, “American Road” also received a Grammy Nomination for “Best Arrangement Accompanying a Vocal” for “On Broadway.”

Comprised of acclaimed vocalist Tierney Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Christian Jacob, Trey Henry, Kevin Axt and Ray Brinker, the band has headlined at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Kennedy Center, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Members of The Tierney Sutton Band have played and recorded with a diverse array of music legends including Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Placido Domingo, Bonnie Raitt, and James Taylor.

“As a jazz aficionado, I am delighted to present the Tierney Sutton Band at the Festival,” says Linda Chesis, the Festival’s artistic director and founder. “Tierney is an incredible vocalist, but her brilliance rests in her ability to blend effortlessly with the extraordinary musicians with whom she has collaborated for almost two decades.” Other jazz artists the Festival has featured include: Kurt Elling, Hilary Kole, Stefon Harris, Bill Charlap, Trio da Paz, the Hank Jones Trio, and the Brubeck Brothers Quartet.
