The Jost Project to Play Chris's Jazz Cafe, 10/9

Chris' Jazz Café in Philadelphia will be filled with "Good Vibrations" on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 7 to 10 p.m. when The Jost Project adds a whole new repertoire of music to their show. Performing classic rock in a classic jazz format, they'll present the music of such legends as Deep Purple, Procol Harum and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Songs like Whiter Shade of Pale, Hush, Karn Evil 9, Come Together and Good Vibrations will be added to such favorites as Walk This Way and Kashmir.

The Jost Project is made of Philadelphia-area musicians including internationally renowned vibraphonist Tony Miceli of South Philadelphia, singer Paul Jost of Vineland, NJ and bassist Kevin MacConnell of Spring City, PA. They will be performing with drummer Anwar Marshall at Chris'. Their CD -- Can't Find My Way Home - was released by Dot Time Records. Two of their songs were selected for the BFM Jazz Digital's compilation CD called "Experience This: Reinterpreted Rock Classics." They are "Kashmir" and "Can't Find My Way Home."

This talented group is bringing attention to jazz by reaching into the "baby boomer" and subsequent generations that came of age with rock and roll, the Beatles, hard rock, and other genres which are rarely played by jazz groups.
