Telemundo Welcomes Gemma Garcia as Executive Producer of NOTICIERO TELEMUNDO

Telemundo announced today the appointment of Gemma Garcia to Executive Producer of "Noticiero Telemundo." In her role, she will supervise and oversee the editorial vision, production logistics and personnel of Telemundo's national newscast. She will be responsible for the show's vision, content, editorial planning process and day-to-day operations. Garcia will be based in Miami and report directly to Luis Fernandez, Executive Vice President of Network News.

"As we continue to invest in news and information to better serve our viewers, I am delighted to welcome Gemma García to Noticias Telemundo," said Fernandez. "Her experience and knowledge will play an integral role in leading the network's national newscast to the next level."

Gemma joins Telemundo from TVE, where she held the position of Chief Correspondent. While at the North AFRICA and Maghreb bureau, she reported on a number of emerging international stories, including the Tunisian first free elections, the Libyan civil war and immigration. Prior to that, she was the Chief Correspondent at TVE's New York bureau, covering the UN, Wall Street, presidential elections and more. Previously, Garcia was Italy and Vatican Bureau Correspondent Chief where she covered Italian politics and Pope news. Before that, she was Deputy Head of TVE's News Department where she led a staff of 1,200, overseeing and developing content and the editorial line of five daily and 10 weekly news programs with an audience of three million viewers on average.

Garcia is a seasoned journalist with more than 20 years of progressive experience within Spanish-language television news, with specific expertise in reporting from the field; developing and implementing media relations strategies; and managing large teams and budgets. She graduated with a Master's degree in Journalism from Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.
