 Conductor Albert-George Schram and the Columbus Symphony open this season with Teddy Bears’ Picnic, a program filled with familiar tunes and sing-a-longs for the whole family. Children are encouraged to "bring their favorite teddy bear to cuddle while enjoying fun and furry music."

The evening’s program includes:

Peck, The Thrill of the Orchestra
Frost, Arr., The Bear Went Over the Mountain
Fillmore, Teddy Trombone
Frost, Arr., Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Mendelssohn, Allegro vivace from Symphony No. 4 in A Major ("Italian")
Mancini, "Baby Elephant Walk" from Paramount Pictures’ Hatari
Frost, Arr., Boomers' Free-for-All
Hanson, "Maypole Dances" from Suite from Merry Mount
La Prise/Frost, The Hokey Pokey

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chairs, pack a picnic, and come early for pre-concert activities from 6-7:45pm. Activities include:

Columbus Museum of Art – Make a craft designed to match the concert theme.
Music and Arts Centers – Try to play a woodwind or brass or percussion instrument.
Face Painting – Choose the design or create your own.
Gymboree – Enjoy music and movement with the famous parachute.
Jest Jugglers – Watch balls, scarves, and bowling pins madly flip and twirl.
WeJoySing – Compose your own tune and rhythm with instruments.
Loft Violin Shop – Practice playing a violin.
Suzuki Students – Listen to talented young musicians perform.

Tickets
The 2012 Nationwide Insurance Popcorn Pops presents Teddy Bears’ Picnic at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion in the Columbus Commons (160 S. High St.) on Friday, June 22, at 8pm (running time approximately one hour). Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children when purchased in advance by phone at 614.228.8600, online at www.PicnicWithThePops.com, in person at the Ohio Theatre Ticket Office (39 E. State St.), or at the gate on the night of the show. Children 2 and under are free.

Discounted Tickets
Central Ohio Kroger Ticketmaster locations and Graeter’s locations will offer Popcorn Pops tickets at a discounted price of $10 for adults. The $8 children’s tickets are also available for purchase at these locations.

Location (New in 2012!)
All concerts will be held at the Columbus Bicentennial Pavilion in the Columbus Commons (160 S. High St.) directly behind the Ohio Theatre. Gates open at 6pm and will be located on the Rich, Third, and State Street sides of the park. Pre-concert activities run from 6-7:45pm. The concert begins at 8pm and will run for approximately one hour.

Parking
More than 950 spaces are available in the lot beneath the Columbus Commons (entrance at 191 S. Third St.), and more than 3,600 spaces are available park-side in the three-story garage at 55 E. Rich St. (entrances are located on Main Street and Rich Street). Parking is $5, and is cash only.

Food & Beverage Policy
Patrons may bring their own food, beverages, alcohol, and/or coolers. Food and non-alcoholic beverages can also be purchased from on-site vendors.

Event Policy
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for lawn seating. Pets, skateboards, solicitation or unauthorized sales, handbills, weapons, plastic tarps, tents, and use of stakes are not permitted. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. Flash cameras, cell phones, laser pointers, and/or video and audio recorders of any kind are not permitted during the performance.

Restrooms
Port-o-lets will be located in the southeast corner of the park at the corner of Third and Rich Streets.

Weather Policy
All concerts are rain or shine, and may start late if necessitated by inclement weather. Concerts will only be cancelled because of severe weather, and the decision will be made after 6pm on the day of the performance. Patrons can call 614-228-8600 after 6pm on the day of the show for updates. If a concert is cancelled due to severe weather, tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.

Bus Transportation
COTA buses will run their regularly scheduled routes to and from downtown. Patrons can get information on bus schedules and stops at www.cota.com.
