For the second year in a row the Anglo-New Yorker, SPOTTISWOODE, has been nominated by the Independent Music Awards for an album produced by the diabolical KENNY SIEGAL at Old Soul Studios. Last year, Spottiswoode was nominated for his plaintive and confessional solo record, PIANO 45, in the best adult contemporary album category. This year he has been nominated twice for WILD GOOSECHASE EXPEDITION.

WILD GOOSECHASE EXPEDITION is the fifth CD he has made with SPOTTISWOODE & HIS ENEMIES, his long-time band and New York mainstay. The collection of seventeen songs boasts pop ditties, rocking laments, exquisite balladry, loony narratives, soul, lounge, cabaret, jazz and the kitchen sink.

WILD GOOSECHASE EXPEDITION has been nominated as the Best Eclectic Album of 2011. In addition, one cut from the album, the tragic and anthemic ballad CHARIOT, has been nominated as the Best Adult Contemporary Song of 2011.

These are the third and fourth IMA nominations for Spottiswoode. He was also nominated in 2008 for Best Folk Album for "S&M," his duo collaboration with Riley McMahon.

"For fourteen years I have kept promising my band that we will find the goddam goose at the end of this exasperating expedition. That continues to be Mission One. I really don't care any more if it lays a golden egg or not. We just need to find it. Goodbye."

The Independent Music Award Winners will be determined by a panel of 77 influential artist and industry judges including Keith Richards, Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, Suzanne Vega, Joshua Redman, Tori Amos, Michael Franti, Bettye Lavette, Del McCoury, Ozzy Osbourne, and Shelby Lynne and will be announced in April, 2012. In addition to industry-determined Winners, music fans from around the world have until Friday, July 20, 2012 to cast their votes at The IMA Vox Pop Jukebox to determine the fan-selected IMA Winners.
