The Spire Center for Performing Arts, the entertainment mecca of Plymouth, presents widely acclaimed songwriter Paula Cole tonight, April 17 at 8 pm, at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth. The concert opens with singer/songwriter Mark Erelli.

Heralded as "An extraordinary songwriter with a gorgeous voice" by Rolling Stone and acclaimed as "... a feisty poet with a soaring voice and a funky groove." by Entertainment Weekly, it is no surprise that Grammy® winner and 7-time nominee Paula Cole is on the verge of releasing her seventh solo album across an eighteen year career. "Raven", to be released in April, returns to her storytelling roots, falling on the 20th anniversary of her performance debut on Peter Gabriel's "Secret World Live" tour/album (1993-1994) and her solo debut "Harbinger" (Imago Records). Cole has sold approximately three million albums and has performed with music icons from Peter Gabriel to Dolly Parton. Her emotionally deep and thrilling performances trademark her poetic, fiercely touching and intelligent writing. Her compositions have been covered by Herbie Hancock, Annie Lennox, Katherine McPhee to name a few.

Opening act Mark Erelli is also a member of the Paula Cole band. Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer in his own right, Erelli, issues a creative recording milestone this September, "Milltowns", a loving tribute to his late musical hero Bill Morrissey. Erelli has tackled everything from western swing and protest songs to lullabies and murder ballads, all in a richly expressive voice. He currently backs up other acclaimed musicians including locally grown Lori McKenna or Josh Ritter. "Every time I accompany a great songwriter, I have the best seat in the house," Erelli explains. "I see how these amazing artists connect with their songs and their audiences from a unique vantage point. For me, every sideman gig is a Master Class, and it makes me a better musician and songwriter."

Tickets for Paula Cole are $40. Tickets are now available, advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available street side, and in public lots in close proximity.
