Deli Magazine wrote of Brooklyn indie-popsters Sky-Pony: "They're not the simplest band to classify. They actually may not be best described as a band at all. Sky-Pony could be seen just as well as a burlesque show or carnival of sorts."
On November 13, that couldn't be truer. Sky-Pony (which is fronted by Tony nominee Lauren Worsham of Broadway's A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder) will present a carnivalesque evening of music and performance, featuring a concert by the band as well as the theatrical acrobatics of 2 Ring Circus and party-tastic Weezer cover band Surf Wax America. It all happens on Thursday November 13 at The Knitting Factory (361 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn). Doors at 8:30pm, show at 9pm. Tickets are $12 advance / $15 day of show. More info and advance tickets available at http://bk.knittingfactory.com/tw-event/?event_id=5392225.Sky-Pony (pictured at top) is a Brooklyn based band that merges lush, danceable indie-pop with burlesque-inspired performance art. They incorporate costumes, choreography, and projections into their high-energy live shows. Their discography includes two EPs: Say You Love Me Like You Mean It and Raptured Live, both available on itunes. Led by Tony nominated singer/actress Lauren Worsham and her Obie Award winning husband Kyle Jarrow, Sky-Pony also features the talents of Kevin Wunderlich, Lizzie O'Hara, Kristine Piacentile, Jessi Suzuki, Perry Silver, Eric Day and David Blasher. The Wall Street Journal describes Sky-Pony as "a 1960s girl group on crack - tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds." More info on the band at http://www.sky-pony.com.
