The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus is proud to announce that the School of Media, Visual, and Performing Arts (MVPA) at San Diego High School has been selected as the outreach partner for the 2014 Spring show. The upcoming "WOW! The Chorus Sings the '90s" concerts on April 5 and 6 at the JCC Garfield Theater in La Jolla will honor MVPA's vision that students "explore a broad range of media, music, and theatre while preparing for college." Donations for the school will be collected in a giant ruby red slipper in the lobby, as well as from chorus members during rehearsals.

"My favorite thing about MVPA is how dedicated our school staff is in not only keeping Arts alive but also doing everything in their power to ensure it thrives." - Ricky, class of 2014

"I love to play instruments, and I also love to draw, paint and be creative. That's why I love this school. It has everything I love. If we had extra money, they should really spend it on new instruments, on supplies for the instruments." - Tiffany, class of 2014

SDGMC Treasurer, Joe Florence, is very excited about the selection: "I have been teaching students Math at MVPA since the school's inception as a small learning community on the big downtown campus of San Diego High School, 10 years ago. I have witnessed the power of art and music in transforming students' lives. I am pleased that SDGMC has decided to join our community to support us in this way."

The Chorus Sings the '90s" are now available for the Saturday, April 5, show at 8 p.m. and the Sunday, April 6 show at 3 p.m. by calling the box office at (858) 362-1348 or at SDGMC.ORG.
