Holy Guacamole! Brooklyn's beloved kindie band, Rolie Polie Guacamole, will take their "Chips and Salsa Summertime Tour" from coast to coast this summer, all the way from Boston to Seattle. Rolie Polie Guacamole looks forward to coming home to NYC in August, with three free shows for families at Hudson River Park, Manhattan (August 15), Washington Park, Brooklyn (August 18), and the Central Library of the Brooklyn Public Library (August 30). See details below.

Rolie Polie Guacamole has been entertaining families for almost a decade. They'll bring their irresistible energy, wacky humor, and impeccable musicianship to their NYC homecoming shows, playing tasty tunes like "Bird Bellyful," "Wake Up Shake Up," "Apples," "Always Brush Your Teeth," and, of course, "Rolie Polie Guacamole."

Says founding member, guitarist/vocalistFrank Gallo, "Our shows are upbeat, funny, and highly interactive. Grownups and kids alike will find themselves dancing, hopping, and turning upside down ... until the show ends, and they are ready to take a nap."

Winner of the prestigious Parents' Choice® and NAPPA Awards, Rolie Polie Guacamole has developed a smart, parent-friendly musical style that dresses up original tunes and classic covers with vibrant harmonies and deft instrumental layers, plugging in a sizzling electric current of rhythm that lights up lyrics humming with relevance and humor.

Rolie Polie Guacamole lays claim to being one of the hardest working bands in kids' music, and that just might be true. They've released five albums and played well over 1,500 shows nationwide since hitting the boards with their first performance in 2007, receiving top picks from Boston.com, Time Out NY Kids, and Time Out Chicago. (It must be in the genes, for founding band member Frank Gallo's dad is none other than veteran kids' musician Lou Gallo.)

Rolie Polie Guacamole's newest release, Chips and Salsa, continues the band's tradition of bouncy, fun, high-energy songs all done up in folk, funk, rock, Latin and country styles, about eating healthy, staying active, and places the band loves to go, with a sprinkling of animal tunes thrown in for good measure.

Previous Rolie Polie Guacamole albums include Triathlon (2014, Parents' Choice Fun Stuff Award®), Houses Of The Moly (2012, Parents' Choice Silver Honor Award®, NAPPA Honors Award), Time For Hummus (2010), and Rolie Polie Guacamole (2008).
