Once a stranger, Rene Lopez has come back to his roots by reinventing them; the result a confident yet subtle, steady stream of poetry, beats, and music that celebrates life, learning, pain and the pleasure of self acceptance.

And thus Rene's newest EP, Let's be Strangers Again (out October 7th) is his renewal and reemergence as a mature artist drawing upon a wealth of influences and inspiration from rock, soul, salsa, African, Cuban and Brazilian artists that have come and certainly struggled before.

But the music of Rene Lopez will always sound warmly familiar, as it is a loving homage to the seemingly universally beloved sounds of Latino New York but with a modern re-interpretation through some playfully inventive genre mashing. Tap into his universal sound now via "Midnight Love", the first track from the EP that you can listen to and share HERE.

Lopez manages to deftly, but subtly blur the traditional lines of his genre, saying: "NYC is such a melting pot. One of my favorite things to do is to just walk around this city where the people influence me everyday. The different music I hear from neighborhood to neighborhood...you go into my neighborhood where I have my studio in Williamsburg and all you hear blaring out of the windows is meringue. Just the diversity of New York influences me so much."

This past year Rene has spent time traveling the globe and playing bass with Joseph Arthur and following this EP release Rene will tour Europe as the band's main support, beginning October 4th.
