Following a successful 30-city headlining tour last spring that took them to major markets across the U.S.-including an official showcase at SXSW-award-winning indie-folk band/theater troupe PigPen Theatre Co. is set to headline the Gramercy Theatre in New York on October 19 and The Sinclair in Boston November 25. While in town they will also be performing runs of their hit show The Old Man and The Old Moon in both cities-at the New Victory Theater and Arts Emerson, respectively.

PigPen's debut indie-folk album, Bremen, won the band a spot among Relix magazine's "5 Artists You Should Know" and was named #10 album of the year in The Huffington Post's 2012 Grammy preview. Their follow-up EP, The Way I'm Running, was released on October 8, 2013, and was premiered by American Songwriter. While passing through Chicago on their last tour, Audiotree filmed an intimate video session with the band that may be viewed HERE.

PigPen Theatre Co. began creating their unique brand of music, film and theater as freshmen at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in 2008. They have produced their original plays Off-Broadway and at regional theaters around the country, earning critics' picks from The New York Times, Time Out New York, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Boston Globe (among others) and year-end rankings among the top ten theatrical events of 2011, 2012, and 2013. Time Out Chicago called The Old Man and The Old Moon, "A Redmoon spectacle multiplied by a Decemberists concert," and noted, "It's tough to shake the notion that you're in at the launch stage of a group that could soon escape orbit." They were the first group to win the NYC Fringe Festival's top honor for a play two years in a row (2010 and 2011) and are thrilled to be working with Writers House, one of the world's leading young adult literary agencies, to develop their debut children's novel.
