Phil Collins will retire from music, according to FHM Magazine. He has said that health issues are among the reasons for ending his career in the business. These include hearing problems, nerve damage to his hands, and a dislocated vertebra. He would like to spend more time with his two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, by his third wife Orianne Cevey.
"I don't really belong to that world and I don't think anyone's going to miss me. I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely. I'll go on a mysterious biking holiday and never return. That would be a great way to end the story, wouldn't it?" Collins told FHM magazineCollins sang the lead vocals on eight American chart-toppers between 1984 and 1989; seven as a solo artist and one with Genesis. His singles, often dealing with lost love, ranged from the drum-heavy "In the Air Tonight", to the dance pop of "Sussudio", to the political statements of his most successful song, "Another Day in Paradise". His international popularity transformed Genesis from a progressive rock group to a regular on the pop charts and an early MTV mainstay.Videos
