Patricia Kelly Approves DANCING WITH THE STARS To Recreate SINGIN' IN THE RAIN

Historian and executor of the Gene Kelly Estate, Patricia Ward Kelly, appeared on DANCING WITH THE STARS this week to cheer on a spirited performance of her husband's iconic SINGIN' IN THE RAIN title song showstopper.

Of note, Kelly personally approved the use and recreation of the iconic movie musical moment from SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and also offered advice - and thoughtful gifts - to performers Derek Hough and Bethany Mota in rehearsals.

"There's so much pressure to do a number like this justice - it's almost impossible," Kelly said of the ambitious performance.

Additionally, Kelly candidly shared, "When Derek dances, I can definitely see a little bit of Gene out there."

DANCING WITH THE STARS airs Mondays at 8 PM on ABC.
