Boston's Pale Hands creates melodic electro pop that's spiritually akin to Cocteau Twins, CHVRCHES or a David Lynch soundtrack. The band will release its sophomore album, Graphism on November 18 and have shared a second track from the release with the premiere of the enchanting "Lower Than Low" with Pancakes & Whiskey.

Graphism is intended as an emotional journey and the yearning "Lower Than Low" describes the schizophrenic feelings of being emotionally enmeshed with another person. "It's about how quickly emotions can change & feeling hypersensitive," explains front-woman Jen Johnson. "For every low there's a high, and that good things will swing back around. Kind of zen, I suppose, like watching your emotions pass through yourself and knowing they are only temporary."

Pale Hands will be playing a show at the DIY event space, The Loft, this Saturday, October 15 at 9pm in Somerville with Glockabelle, Condor and Audrey Ryan. The show is 21 + and BYOB.

The closing of more traditional music venues in Boston like TT the Bear's has forced artists and promoters to create their own venues to host shows and find a way to create a community.

"As people change the way they interact with music, as an indie band we're looking for new ways to share what we do, and take it outside the traditional rock club bar situation," says Johnson. Expect more news from the band regarding this ethos pertaining to the upcoming tour schedule.
