NBC News' MEET THE PRESS WITH CHUCK TODD was the most-watched Sunday public affairs program in the audience most valued by news advertisers this past Sunday according to Nielsen data, marking its fourth straight week at #1. The network broadcast continues as the #1 most-watched Sunday public affairs program season-to-date, leading its competition across the board.
This past Sunday's broadcast featured exclusive interviews with former CIA Director John Brennan, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and party chairs Tom Perez of the Democratic Party and Ronna McDaniel of the Republican Party. Delivering 878,000 A25-54 key demo viewers, MTP beat its competition by double-digits, delivering +25 percent (+176,000) more than ABC's "This Week" and +30 percent (+201,000) more than CBS' "Face the Nation. Comparing the key demo to the same Sunday last year, MTP has more than doubled its lead over ABC (176,000 vs. 76,000 a year ago) and has improved its advantage over CBS by 118 percent (201,000 vs. 92,000 a year ago). Season-to-date, MTP holds its biggest advantage over CBS in eight years and over ABC in six years amongst A25-54 viewers. 2.964 million viewers tuned into the broadcast on Sunday, eight percent (+213,000) more than ABC. MTP's advantage over ABC in total viewers has grown 39 percent in the past year (213,000 vs. 154,000 a year ago). MTP is outperforming ABC by +436,000 total viewers season-to-date, its best advantage in five years. Less than half of a percentage point (.04 percent) of total viewers separated MTP from CBS, which continues to claim ratings based on the first half-hour of its hour broadcast.
