Richmond, VA based trio My Darling Fury have released their emotive new EP titled ACHES. In three songs, the band blends indie, electro, and pop sounds while still retaining the band's quirky theatricality and razor-sharp wit, creating what some would call a bruised elegance. The indie pop trio of Todd Matthews, Joel Hollister and charismatic frontman Danny Reyes aims to defy genre limitations with songs that celebrate the unpredictability of life and love. Listen to the full EP here.

From "Aches" to "Satisfied" to "AOK", the band doesn't disappoint. With lead singer Danny Reyes' Freddie Mercury-esque voice and the band's affinity for complex rhythm structures, operatic-sized dramatics, and chamber music intimacy, My Darling Fury brings us remarkable sound and inspiring harmony. Fast tempo song "AOK" demonstrates Reyes's acrobatic vocals and talent for layering songs with inspiration from Cuban rhythms. The eponymous song is filled with subtle electronic textures, while the slower tempo "Satisfied" conveys poignant lyrics, and proves that the band has evolved since their 2013 debut album Licking Wounds.

Bassist and sound engineer Todd Matthews integrates cutting edge music software and subtle electronic textures into the fabric of the band's ever-fluctuating song structures. While manipulating the sounds of electric and bowed upright bass, he continues to experiment and develop new and innovative dialects for his instrument. Matthews composes tracks together with drummer Joel Hollister, whose atmospheric dynamics and percussive strokes elicit more remarkable sounds out of a sampler and a traditional drum kit than predictably expected.

Defending the dark horse, embracing optimism, and staring into the eyes of adversity, My Darling Fury invites you to rewrite their future and yours.
