Movin' Melvin Brown: The Last of the Great Song and Dance Men! Flamboyant, entertaining and back for more, Movin' Melvin Brown returns to Austin with a brand new show and The Ray Charles Sound Band. Performing R&B, Jazz, Country, Soul classics and original tunes, his vocal range is incredible. Oozing charisma, versatility, talent and sheer joy, Movin' Melvin turns classic entertainment into an electrifying performance. The genius of Ray Charles and Sammy Davis Jr. come together through Movin' Melvin's greatness. He combines their songs, dance, comedy sketches and improvisational ability in a "must-see" show filled with singing, dancing, tap, comedy, mime, and robotics that demonstrates why Melvin has shared the stage with such luminaries as BB King, Stevie Wonder, JAmes Brown and Smokey Robinson. He has also appeared in several movies with Willie Nelson.

Melvin's sound has been compared to such great entertainers as Otis Redding, Ray Charles, JAmes Brown, Sam Cooke, Louis Armstrong, and many of the gospel greats. His shows have inspired and entertained audiences worldwide through song, dance, tap, storytelling and humor. His dancing talents include Tap Dancing, Juke Dancing, Clogging, Jazz, Swing, Contemporary, Mime and Robotics. Audiences enjoy watching his dance moves that reflect styles from the 1940s into the new millennium. The show was premiered at the Adelaide Festival in Australia, to sold out houses, in the UK (nominated Star of the Festival and awarded as Best International Act in Brighton) and in France last summer, where it received rave reviews and was sold out for the entire Avignon International Festival.

Melvin was been a featured artist at Oprah Winfrey's birthday party for Maya Angelou, has opened for Harry Connick Junior on his Australian tour, for The Four Tops in Las Vegas and shared the stage with Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson and JAmes Brown. In the 70s, Lionel Ritchie & The Commodores opened for Melvin's band Movin', Soothin' and Stone Funk Band performing Southern dates. Melvin had a big hit called "Send Me Some Love", which, along with another song of his, "Loves Stormy Weather," has been recently re-discovered, and on the charts on Jazz FM, London. Melvin has also been featured in many TV shows around the world, from Good Morning Australia, to CNN World, BBC World, RAI Rome and more. He has also performed in Edinburgh, Avignon, Sydney, Vancouver, Adelaide, Hong Kong as well as Las Vegas Show Lounge, MGM Grand and more.
