For such a young band (the trio formed just last February, so they're not even a year old!), MisterWives sounds like they've been making music together forever. They're a flawless blend of folk and soul-a little bit Lumineers, a little bit Of Monsters and Men, but entirely their own, thanks to the hauntingly soulful voice of lead singer Mandy Lee, who's not only the frontlady but also the crazy-talented songwriter who pens all their tracks. And did we mention that she's just 21? Yeah, she's just 21.
Tomorrow, the band drops Reflections, their debut EP full of indie pop awesomeness. Some of it is dancey and fun and will make you shimmy in your seat; others, like their first single, "Coffins," are emotional and touching ballads that miiiight make you cry but will definitely make you feel melancholy in the way only rom-coms and flawless indie pop can. But you don't have to wait until tomorrow to get your hands on new tunes from MisterWives. We're debuting their title track, "Reflections," right here. And when you're done with that, go ahead and give their folk-infused take on "Hold on We're Going Home" a listen. Can't you imagine a young Stevie Nicks covering Drake? Sounds rad, right?
