Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) will present the world premier of "Love Songs of the Presidents," a collection of 4-part choral music with lyrics pulled from poems and love letters written by former US Presidents and performed by The Dan Meyer Choir. Audience members will have the opportunity to hear the words of Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Tyler, Buchanan, Lincoln, Harding, Hoover, George W. Bush and more, ranging from romantic to racy.

Composer/arranger Dan Meyer leads his 18-voice choir, specializing in music of historical eccentricity and interest. Meyer has taught music in Maryland and several Pacific Islands, including Guam and Oahu. He has also resurrected pop songs about Baltimore written after 1850, as well as sung period songs about the Battle of Baltimore.

Since 2009, The Dan Meyer Choir has been Baltimore's most original choir, bringing brand-new choral music to bars, swimming pools, tall ships, barber shops, pagodas and other unique venues. Over the years they have performed at Artscape, the Washington Monument Lighting, The Star-Spangled Spectacular and many other events around Baltimore City. This performance at Maryland Ensemble Theatre marks the first time The Dan Meyer Choir has ventured beyond the borders of Baltimore City.
