Major Lazer Organizes 'Relief Is The Mission' Charity Concert in Miami

Benefitting Caribbean hurricane victims, Major Lazer is organizing Relief is the Mission, a charity concert at Miami's Mana Wynwood October 16. The show will take place on III Points Festival's Mindmelt stage-III Points ticketholders will receive a special code to add on this fourth day for a discounted ticket price.

The concert will feature Major Lazer-whose Diplo is a south Florida native, Jillionaire is Trinidadian and Walshy Fire is Jamaican-alongside Miami resident Tory Lanez, Trinidadian soca star Machel Montano, Puerto Rican producer and rapper Bad Bunny and many more special guests. Proceeds from the event will benefit three charities chosen by the members of Major Lazer:ConPRmetidos' Hurricane Maria Recovery Fund; Save The Children's Hurricane Maria Children's Relief Fund; and Global Giving's Puerto Rico & Caribbean Hurricane Relief Fund.
"Being from Miami, I have many Puerto Rican friends who've shared first-hand how badly the island has been hit," says Walshy Fire. "ConPRmetidos is committed to the long-term relief of Puerto Rico and I want to do everything that I can to help rebuild this beautiful island that so many of my loved ones call home."
"As a father, it breaks my heart to see the images and videos of all the children affected by the hurricane," adds Diplo. "I want to go above and beyond to help, and Save the Childrenis doing just that. It is my hope that no parent has to ever go through a situation like this, and I will do my best to help them rebuild and overcome this horrible tragedy."
"The Caribbean is my home. Seeing the devastation that these hurricanes have inflicted to places that I have so many great memories of is heartbreaking," says Jillionaire. "Global Giving is supporting hurricane relief throughout the entire Caribbean, and I want to make sure that I do my part in helping all of the islands that were affected. "
This event, a passion project for Major Lazer, follows Diplo's initiative to support the Las Vegas Victims' Fund. Starting with an initial donation of $100,000, Diplo called upon fellow producers and DJs with ties to Vegas, raising nearly $1,000,000 in 72 hours.

All donations to this fund will exclusively support any necessary hurricane relief and recovery efforts in the Caribbean.
