Singer-songwriter-composer Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that has spanned 14 albums. Coupled with his wry lyrics and gift for storytelling, this much-loved performer fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, pop, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying musical mix that has resonated with fans and critics across the globe. Lyle has won four Grammy Awards, received the Americana Trailblazer Award, Texas Medal of Arts Award, and Texas Film Hall of Fame Soundtrack Award. Since his self-titled debut in 1986, he's scored seven Top 10 albums on the Billboard charts and appeared in 13 feature films. Lyle was named Official Texas State Musician for 2011.
