Lowland Hum Premiere New Song, New Album GLYPHONIC Out 5/10

Lowland Hum have shared the third single from their upcoming album Glyphonic out May 10. It's a thoughfully paced self-reflection complete with evocative lyric video. Atwood Magazine premiered the track, noting with care, "'Slow' is built around Lauren and Daniel Goans' harmonized vocals and an acoustic track similar to 'Space Oddity.' The instrumentation is bare and enhances the haunting quality of their vocals. An electric guitar adds texture when their voices go higher, or the acoustic waltzes as the two seem to narrate the dancers in their video. As words flash across the screen, images of dancers, rocketships, and outer-space are all laid over-each other that compliments the dream-like tone of the song."

WATCH "SLOW"

Lowland Hum tour about 200 days out of the year and have done so with the likes of Josh Ritter, The Oh Hellos and more. The indie pioneers will headline a national album release tour this spring including key stops in Nashville, Los Angeles and and New York City. The full list of dates is below.

Today's release follows the gently compelling "Salzburg Summer" hailed by Popmatters as "an interpretive indie folk number with layers of captivating vocals and flourishes of piano, guitar, and percussion" as well as the sweetly swirling "Raise The Ring" noted by Billboard for a "louder sonic path than its predecessors." Lowland Hum are an art-folk duo composed of husband and wife, Daniel and Lauren Goans. Creators of the #SupportQuietMusic movement, the band maintain that in an increasingly polarized and noisy cultural moment, vulnerability is powerful and restraint stands in welcome contrast to new, bombastic norms. New album Glyphonic is the purest distillation of this thesis to date, a masterful exploration of stillness in rising chaos.
