Lost Bayou Ramblers Announced As Part of Pickathon 2018 Line Up

Pickathon is pleased to announce the lineup for 2018, the music festival's 20th year. Among those appearing will traditional Cajun music's most determinedexperimenters, Lost Bayou Ramblers who won a Grammy Award for "Best Regional Roots Rock Album" for their latest release, Kalenda. Celebrated as the best independent event for discovering new music, Pickathon prides itself on its emphasis on diversity and inclusivity, noted in 2017 as one of the most unique and gender-neutral festivals in the US. Taking place August 2nd through 5th on Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, OR, the 2018 lineup will bring together artists of all genders and varied cultural backgrounds from more than a dozen countries spanning the genres of rock, folk, experimental, jazz, and beyond.

Reflecting on 20 years, 3 locations, hundreds of performers and thousands of supporters, Pickathon founding partner, Zale Schoenborn says, "In an age of uniform commercial festivals, we are humbled that against all odds, an experience- and discovery-oriented music festival like Pickathon is not only celebrating a 20-year anniversary but is also recognized as one of the most unique and diverse in the country."

Established in 1998, Pickathon is an independent, all-ages & family-friendly music festival hosted on Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, OR, just 30 minutes outside of Downtown Portland. Taking place over the course of four days in early August, attendees enjoy musical performances on artistically-designed stages by some of the best new and established musicians from around the world. Considered a leader in sustainability practices, Pickathon eliminates waste through a reusable dishware and cup system that was introduced in 2010 and is now being adopted by others. Visitors of Pickathon enjoy a magical weekend of camping, discovering new music, wellness activities including yoga and massage, as well as some of the best food, beer and wine the region has to offer, all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Northwest.
