Krrum have shared the CAZZETTE remix of new single 'Evil Twin', with the band's EP of the same name also available today (via 37 Adventures / +1 Records). The EP also includes a brand new single, 'Get The Girl.' The idiosyncratic Leeds duo, comprised of Alex and Harrison, have already made Spotify UK and US' viral charts, reached number 1 on both Shazam and Hype Machine, as well as picking up plays across Radio 1, Beats 1 courtesy of Zane Lowe and 6Music. This follows sold-out UK dates (including London's Pickle Factory) and festivals ranging from Pitchfork Paris to Radio 1's Big Weekend and Lovebox.

Airing today, CAZZETTE's inventive take on 'Evil Twin' follows an extensive period of activity for the duo (with recent single 'Handful of God', featuring JONES, seeing them surpass 280 million streams). Krrum also recently shared the brand new, Camille Summers-Valli-directed video for 'Evil Twin', with its cast of familiar faces (but not as you know them). Starring Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj, Boy George and Michael Jackson lookalikes auditioning for Krrum's Leeds-based lead producer and co-vocalist Alex, the band describe 'Evil Twin' as "toying with the duality of wanting to be healthy, productive and find some long term stability, but also wanting to throw that all away and indulge your vices. Individually they are comforting but are always competing with each other to come out. Camille's idea for the video was a strange realisation of that competition."

'Evil Twin' first offered a tantalising glimpse into the world of Krrum, but - millions of streams, early live shows, and a string of acclaimed tracks later - now emerges reworked and fully formed for 2017. As drawn to early Metronomy or Justice-inspired electronics as the confessional songwriting of Justin Vernon or Jai Paul, Krrum was initially the brainchild of the band's producer, Alex. Hailing from the wilderness of Derbyshire, where the buses stop at 5pm and the nearest nightclub is a £50 cab away, he first became interested in punk and ska, where a stint playing trumpets in ska bands perhaps sewed the seeds for the bombastic brass which now punctuates tracks like 'Evil Twin'. Then, a strange tenure working in a historical cave and later in a butchery laid the foundations of an alternate reality, in which you might make music for living.

Everything came into focus at Leeds College of Music, where Alex moved to study production. Here, he met lead vocalist Harrison, with the duo gradually evolving into a band that struck gold almost immediately on the quickly-viral early recording of 'Evil Twin'. Having finessed their songwriting ever since, frequently Krrum transform small-town tedium into eccentric, visually-appealing pop in which little is certain, but anything is possible.
