Emmy and Tony Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will be the recipient of the theater's 2016 Giving Voice Award on April 28.

The award recognizes exceptional achievement by and for children in the arts, and is given annually to an individual whose professional and personal achievement serves as an inspiration to young artists and who has given their heart, talent, and spirit to empowering youth in the arts. Chenoweth has starred in a variety of successful film, television, voiceover, and stage projects over the span of her career. She received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the ABC series Pushing Daisies and a Tony Award for her performance in YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. Most recently, she earned a Tony Award nomination for her role in Broadway's ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. She has previously earned two Emmy Award nominations for her role in Fox's Glee, as well as a Tony Award nomination for the role of Glinda in Wicked.

Chenoweth has appeared across the globe in concert as a soloist and has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Pops, the National Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, and the San Francisco Symphony. She recently received a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the category of Live Performance/Theatre.
