Katie Herzig is excited to announce the April 8th release of a new full-length studio album Walk Through Walls. Recorded in her home base of Nashville, TN at St. Cecelia studios with co-producer Cason Cooley, the twelve-song set was mixed by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, Ra Ra Riot) at Blackbird Studios also in Nashville. Cooley and Gerrish were the same team to work with Herzig on 2011's critically and commercially successful album The Waking Sleep. Herzig has already announced a big US headlining tour in support of the new album that kicks off in March at this year's SXSW and has her on the road through the end of May.

The last three years leading up to Walk Through Walls has been a transformative period for Herzig who lost her Mother to cancer in 2011 just as she was about to embark on The Waking Sleep world tour. To say the months to follow were a bit of a blur is an understatement. It wasn't until she finished her set at Bonnaroo in the spring of 2012 and was watching Radiohead, that she found herself having her first creative breakthrough since her Mother had passed. She spent the weeks and months that followed writing what would eventually become Walk Through Walls.

In addition to working on her own album, Katie also found herself working with other artists. She co-produced songs on Ingrid Michaelson's forthcoming album Lights Out, including the first single "Girls Chase Boys." She collaborated on "We Belong," on RAC's Don't Talk To EP, which came out in the fall of 2013 on Cherrytree/Interscope and also included contributions from Kele & MNDR, Tokyo Police Club and Penguin Prison. "We Belong" hit the #1 Spot on Hype Machine and can currently be heard on KCRW.

Katie Herzig has come a long way since she first started playing in a band in the summer of 1997. Born in California and raised in Colorado, in the early years Katie lacked the confidence to take center stage instead providing backing vocals and drums. In 2004 she released her first solo album Watch Them Fall whose title track was picked up for the WB Television series Smallville. In 2006 when her band broke up, Katie decided to pursue a solo career and that same year released her second full-length album Weightless. A succession of syncs followed with several songs being featured in Grey's Anatomy as well as Pretty Little Liars. Soon after the release of Weightless, Katie relocated to Nashville, TN and in 2008 she released her third full-length studio album Apple Tree.

Constantly evolving as an artist, Herzig has spent the years supporting her solo releases touring. In addition to playing Bonnaroo in 2012, she also performed at Bumbershoot, Summerfest, Life Is Good, SXSW and Sundance. She's not only headlined, but has supported a number of noteworthy artists along the way including Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, and The Fray. And she's joined 10 out of Tenn as a member on more than one occasion. As mentioned above, Katie Herzig has had her music licensed for innumerable film, TV and commercials and most recently her song "Lost and Found" (from The Waking Sleep) was featured in the trailer for Disney's Saving Mr. Banks as well as in a commercial for Carnival Cruises. Her live show is a dynamic full-band set that is as intimate as it is epic, what listeners have come to expect of Herzig, who will tour Walk Through Walls this spring with her band throughout the US.
