Emerging Nashville recording artist Kaitlyn Baker will bring her "coal country" sound to Cincinnati, Ohio, for the first time today and tomorrow, June 5 and 6, when she performs at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill.

A native of the coal mining town of Pound, Virginia, Baker has been called a new "coal miner's daughter." Her bluesy ballad "Coal Train" was recently included in the 2015 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ZinePak, a 2-CD compilation of songs by some of country music's most popular stars along with new artists. The ACM Awards ZinePak debuted at #4 on Billboard Magazine's Top Country Albums chart, where it remained in the top 10 for three consecutive weeks leading up to the ACM Awards.

"It's an honor to be one of 15 emerging artists selected for that project," Baker said. "When I wrote 'Coal Train,' I just wanted to tell a simple story about a young man who leaves home in search of a job. I never imagined it would be part of the ACM Awards ZinePak with artists like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert."

Meanwhile, Baker's debut single "Burn" is being played by a growing number of radio stations. Based partly on a real experience and an old church sermon, the song is about a woman who won't tolerate a man who cheats on her. The music video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/zW-is2ZlZ9A

The weekend of June 5, 6 and 7 promises to be a big one for country music fans in Cincinnati, with the Bunbury Music Festival scheduled to take place along the city's riverfront. Although the festival is focused primarily on indie and alternative rock, several country and Americana artists are in the lineup, including Kasey Musgraves, Old Crow Medicine Show and the Avett Brothers.

"I can't wait to perform in Cincinnati," Baker said. "Between my shows, the Bunbury Music Festival and the Reds playing the Padres that weekend, it's going to be one huge party along the riverfront."

Kaitlyn Baker will perform at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, 145 2nd Street East, Cincinnati, OH 45202, on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, starting at 9:30 p.m. Cover charge $5; Ladies free on Friday.
