Originally from Kailua, Hawaii, singer/songwriter Justin Young comes to the Scherr Forum Theatre, tonight, November 8, 2014 at 8:30 pm.

After winning first place in a songwriting contest in 1995, Young was given the opportunity to record a local album in Hawaii. Young played keyboards, guitar and ukulele and wrote six of the ten songs on the record. In March, 1996 Young's debut album released at number three at Tower Records for Hawaiian albums and remained in the top ten for six weeks.

Young went on to release a number of successful albums in Hawaii and established a reputation in the Islands for his good music and gentle character. With eight number-one hits on island radio and four Hawaiian Music Awards under his belt, Young relocated to Los Angeles.

Young quickly established a following in the local music scene and connected with other singer/songwriters including Colbie Caillat. Caillat quickly ascended to the top of the Billboard charts and soon after asked Justin to join her band. After touring with Caillat and opening for such artists as LeAnn Rimes, Young has again focused on his own music, playing solo shows in Los Angeles and New York.
