John Mayer Announces New Tour with IDOL's Phillip Phillips

Following his break up with songstress Katy Perry, John Mayer is prepping to hit the road for his first tour in three years.

According to Billboard, Mayer will launch on April 25 in Tuscaloosaa, AL, in honor of his most recent album, BORN AND RAISED, which was released last year. In addition, AMERICAN IDOL winner Phillip Phillips will open for Mayer at nearly every performance. The tour will wrap in mid-October at the infamous Hollywood Bowl.

Released in June 2012, Born and Raised, the fifth Columbia Records album from seven-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist Mayer, debuted at Number One in six countries--Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Denmark, Netherlands and the United States--while hitting Number One on iTunes in thirty territories worldwide.

Mayer's previous albums--Room for Squares (2001), Heavier Things (2003), Continuum (2006) and Battle Studies (2009)--have sold more than 17 million copies combined worldwide.
