JUNKIE XL’S 'Synthesized' Now Available on Nettwerk Records
Hailing from Amsterdam but now based in Los Angeles, electronic music producer and musician JUNKIE XL celebrates the release of his new album SYNTHESIZED. Out now on Nettwerk Records, the 12-track offering marks his first album in four years and the sixth full-length LP in his 15-year career.
SYNTHESIZED features tracks such as the unrelentingly heavy "Klatshing!," the Ministry-by-way-of-Ed-Banger "Kill The Band" and "Leave Behind Your Ego," a complete psychedelic experience with a Timothy Leary sample and JUNKIE XL's 808. Other vocal cameos includeTommie Sunshine and Curt Smith (Tears For Fears), Fredrik Saroea (DATAROCK) and Isis Salam (Chinese Flash Mob, formerlyThunderheist). There’s also "The Art of Luxurious Intergalactic Time Travel" and "Take Off On Molly's E" which chill out with beautiful, “lysergic” lullabies. Hear the entire album streaming now at:
Meanwhile, today, Thursday, November 29 starting at noon PT/3:00 pm ET, JUNKIE XL’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) performance coupled with a split-screen live commentary from Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) will commence broadcasting on JUNKIE XL's Ustream channel here: http://www.ustream.tv/junkiexl. Captured Friday, October 19 at Dutch electronic dance event VRIJ (www.vrij.nl)--a sold-out event which took place at the monumental Royal Concert Hall in City Center Amsterdam--the performance captures JUNKIE XL presenting selections from Synthesized including his current single “Gloria,” a pulsating club track with tough, bass-heavy stylings featuring Fredrik of Datarock, as well as other album cuts including “Off The Dancefloor,” “Love Machine” (a track he produced with Tommie Sunshine) and “Synthesized.” It will be available on UStream for two weeks before moving to YouTube.
