JOHN FOGERTY triumphed at SXSW this past weekend with special performances at the annual music conference in Austin, TX, with his own band (Saturday, March 16) and as part of Dave Grohl's Sound City Players (Thursday, March 14). These shows by the legendary singer, songwriter and guitarist fueled the excitement for the May 28 release of his new self-produced album WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE. At his Saturday show, cited in the L.A. Weekly's and Houston Press' "Best of SXSW" column, FOGERTY welcomed Dawes onstage with him to perform a potent version of the FOGERTY-penned CCR classic "Someday Never Comes." Dawes also collaborates on the song with FOGERTY on WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE.

FOGERTY drew accolades for his Saturday show at the ACL Moody Theatre: CHICAGO'S SUNTIMES.COMnoted that "The Rock Hall of Famer proved impressively energetic...playing fiery lead guitar and belting out everything in his sharp, soulful tenor that remains unmistakable and remarkably unchanged (3/17/13)." Elsewhere, MYSANANTONIO.COM said, "...the night belonged to Fogerty, who was in high spirits as he played a slew of Creedence Clearwater Revival hits, from "Travelin' Band" to "Fortunate Son," in a concert-length showcase...Fogerty's voice and lead guitar were clearly authentic CCR. (3/18/13)."

FOGERTY has performed with Dave Grohl's Sound City Players in several cities and on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" earlier this month (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TODQc2Lu3Js). ROLLINGSTONE.COM said of their SXSW show, "Grohl looked positively delighted when Fogerty played the vibrato guitar lick that opens 'Born on a Bayou,' and the band rolled easily through 'Bad Moon Rising' and 'Proud Mary' before ending the show with a high-octane version of 'Fortunate Son (3/15)'." The Foo Fighters collaborate with FOGERTY on his self-penned CCR classic "Fortunate Son" on WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE.

WROTE A SONG FOR EVERYONE--a celebration of his iconic songbook--is a collection of 12 classics and deep tracks from his remarkable canon of hits recorded in collaboration with other artists, plus two brand new solo songs.

USA Today's Edna Gundersen, writing about a Los Angeles listening session, praised the new version of "Fortunate Son": "The Foo Fighters join in on a fierce, raucous all-too-timely remake of Fogerty's bitter slap at the entitled class (2/24/13)." Billboard's Thom Duffy noted that FOGERTY "songs like 'Proud Mary,' 'Bad Moon Rising,' and 'Fortunate Son' not only created a soundtrack for those tumultuous years in America, they've transcended that era to define rock n' roll for the ages." Duffy also said: "As a solo artist Fogerty's songwriting gift has been undiminished, with tunes like the joyous anticipation of 'Almost Saturday Night' or the wheels-on-fire celebration of 'Hot Rod Heart' from his Grammy-winning Blue Moon Swamp album" (2/14/13).
