Il Volo Set to Return to the State Theatre in March

Tickets for Il Volo go on sale to State Theatre members on Wednesday, January 11 at 10AM and to the general public on Tuesday, January 17.

Il Volo is the Italian pop vocal trio that has blended pop music and opera to colossal success around the world. Their latest concert, "Una Notte Magica - A Tribute to the Three Tenors," is a celebration of the famed Three Tenors concert that featured Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, and Jose Carreras singing pop hits and well known operatic arias. It was July 7, 1990 when, in one of the most impressive site of the Opera, the Teatro delle Terme di Caracalla in Rome, "The Three Tenors" performed together creating one of the biggest music events of the century. Twenty-six years after that historic event, IL VOLO - after the success of a long international tour - decided to recall the emotions of that magical night with a unique and unrepeatable event. "Notte Magica - A Tribute To The Three Tenors" is the new album of IL VOLO, available in CD and 2CD + DVD deluxe edition with the special participation of the Maestro Placido Domingo.

In just a few years IL VOLO have performed worldwide, released top-selling albums, toured with legendary songstress Barbra Streisand, and taken the stage for four acclaimed PBS specials. The powerhouse trio is now returning to the States, following charting at #1 on Billboard Classical chart with Notte Magica - A Tribute to The Three Tenors. The three young singers, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble always bring audiences their best live performances of pop and traditional English, Italian and Spanish favorites.

Il Volo has released five albums so far, starting in 2011: three studio albums, a live album, and a Christmas album. Recently, Il Volo won the "Big Artist" Award at the prestigious Sanremo Music Festival in Italy, which led them to go 3x Platinum in Italy with their latest EP and contributed to their sold-out summer tour. They have been guests on numerous TV programs in the United States (The Tonight Show, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Talk, American Idol, The Ellen Degeneres Show, and The Rachael Ray Show), and they also appeared on the final episode of HBO's hit series Entourage.

Il Volo sang with Barbra Streisand in 2012, performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City as special guests of Laura Pausini, won a Billboard Latin Music Award, and toured the United States and Latin America with great success.

This is the third time Il Volo will peform at the State Theatre, including in front of a sell-out audience in February, 2016.
