HS Fanga's latest single is already causing a "butterfly effect" around the world. The new song Butterfly shines light on universal social issues and delivers a hard-hitting message without pulling any punches. Don't let the sweet melody fool you; HS Fanga continues to subvert the music industry by juxtaposing beautiful music with a deep message about the travails of unplanned motherhood and the dire consequences of one young woman's reckless behaviour.

Music critics with an ear to the ground are hailing Butterfly as a masterpiece, and the video clip has already garnered thousands of hits on YouTube alone (watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qZgUmluEhU&spfreload=10). Inspired by a real life tragedy that made headlines in 2014 in Trinidad and Tobago -lead singer and songwriter Hillary Sargeant's home country - Butterfly tells the story of a young girl's downward spiral from thrill-seeker to drug-addicted motherhood, neglect, and finally, the ultimate tragedy of losing one's child.

In her own words, Hillary Sargeant offers some insight into what inspired her to write the song: "As a song writer/messenger I felt it was in my power to release my pain and express myself in the only way I knew how: through the frequency of my vocal ability and vibration that is music. As I continued getting deeper into the context of writing the song I thought of how damaging neglect can be, I thought of the entire picture of so called "child soldiers," young prostitutes, and even young children neglected at home because their parents are too busy burning the candle at both ends. It's truly a "Sad Situation."

When asked why she chose such a hard-hitting topic, Hillary Sargeant stated: "The only weapon that I can use to make a difference is the power of my words, and if I can make one iota of difference to some young mother or mother to be, or anybody for that matter, then so be it!"
