Artist and Musician Grey Gersten expands upon his multimedia work creating an installation and performance piece featuring a live video and audio stream of The Statue of Liberty.

This evocative new artwork interweaves telepresence, music, and video to explore the present moment in America. Open to the public during the day from 11am - 6pm, The Golden Door encourages visitors to meditate on Identity, Awareness, and Freedom. The reflective environment features a live video / audio stream of The Statue of Liberty (via Earth Cam) accompanied live by Gersten's unique ambient soundscapes. "This piece does not have a political perspective or agenda" says Gersten. "It's a mirror, each person's experience will be more of a reflection of themselves then the work." The result is a simple yet transcendent work, one that offers a glimpse of stillness in the midst of a turbulent time.

Grey Gersten is a Brooklyn based artist and musician. For the past 10 years Gersten has been active in NYC's experimental rock and art community collaborating with an eclectic mix of revered artists. His latest work is Custom Melodies, an interactive multimedia website that features 110 biographical songs created with 110 strangers at his immersive and participatory Mmuseumm exhibition. Custom Melodies was featured in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Wall Street Journal, Gizmodo, Paste, Interview Magazine, Time Out NY and other publications. This Spring Gersten will release his debut album Naked Light. Laurie Anderson recently mentioned Gersten's new work in Art in America, "I really love this album".
