Ahead of their new single 'Hunter or a Gatherer' (coming out later this year) Conchillia have dropped a haunting film clip for their darkly evocative track 'Afraid of the Dark'. Its a chilling story of abuse told through sign language. The film clip will be launched on Thursday 24th September at the Grace Emily.

Sharing the stage with Conchillia next Thursday at the Grace will be Banjo Jackson.

Drawing from a whole world of inspiration, Conchillia creates a new sound, pulsing with vibrancy and vitality. Take a pinch of French cabaret and dress it in bright pop melodies, add the bittersweet mournful cry of a saxophone beside the sunny smile of ukulele and vocal harmonies, underpin it with a samba beat, then a shuffle, then a proud march. It's unpredictable, delightful - a unique blend that comes from the sound of travelling, the influx of different cultures, rhythms, people and sounds. Shimmering with creativity and luscious, tuneful appeal, Conchillia proudly presents something new for those old ears of yours.

Forming early in 2014, Conchillia were soon in the studio recording their first EP. Since launching their debut EP in late 2014 at the Jade Monkey (Adelaide), Conchillia toured to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, finishing the year with a performance at South Australia's Gorgeous Festival. So far this year they've toured to Melbourne, Wagga Wagga, Canberra, Perisher, and Warrnambool, with performances at the Peak Music Festival (NSW) & Leaps & Bounds Music Festival (VIC). Conchillia's song 'Witchdoctor' enjoyed 3 weeks in the Top 10 on the Amrap regional charts. Conchillia have a busy couple of months ahead with upcoming shows at the Semaphore Music Festival(SA), Adelaide Vegan Festival(SA), Australia Music Week(Sydney) and a run of shows in Queensland.
