Christmas Music Gets a New Sound with the Release of Caribbean Holiday Albums from CRS Music & Media

Caribbean label CRS Music & Media, a member of The COT Media Group, a marketing and production organization made up of 5 complementary companies based in Barbados, releases three albums from their popular Holiday catalog including classics from The Merrymen and the Banks Soundtech Orchestra.BFM Digital, a leading digital distributor of independent music, will be distributing the content.

The release of the Holiday albums comes amidst a new marketing and distribution partnership with BFM Digital, which has propelled CRS towards their goal of introducing their content to larger audiences outside the Caribbean. Releasing these albums from their Holiday catalogue is an ideal launching point for generating such mainstream interest.

The first of these Holiday releases is "Caribbean Christmas Party" by The Merrymen, along with "Steel Drums at Christmas" by the Banks Soundtech Steel Orchestra, and a compilation of Christmas classics called "The Very Best Caribbean Christmas Ever!"

About Caribbean Christmas Party 
The Merrymen, originally hailing from Barbados, are one of the most popular calypso groups in the Caribbean. They first gained notoriety in the late 60's for their unique sound that they create by blending genres such as Caribbean, Folk, and Calypso. Their more notable hits include "The Big Bamboo," "You Sweeten Me," "Beautiful Barbados" and "Soul Calypso."

After many years of success with their traditional albums, The Merrymen released "Caribbean Christmas Party," which includes the Christmas classics "Silver Bells," "White Christmas," and "Little Drummer Boy." The collection also features several less conventional Holiday tunes including "Drink a Rum," "Happy Birthday Jesus," and Caribbean favorite, "Santa's Got a Sunburn."

The Banks Soundtech Steel Orchestra has thrilled many visitors from all over the world for more than three decades. Their range, which stretches from classical concertos to contemporary melodies to the hottest Caribbean rhythms, has earned them the reputation as one of the top steel orchestras of Barbados.

Their highly regarded Holiday album, "Steel Drums at Christmas," is a light hearted take on many Christmas classics including "Feliz Navidad," "O Holy Night," and "Here Comes Santa Claus," as well as a Holiday medley featuring "Little Drummer Boy," "The First Noel," "Angels We Have Heard On High" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
