Bluegrass Group Dailey & Vincent to Perform at Three Stages Tonight

Dailey & Vincent have taken the bluegrass world by storm since they launched their career as a duo in 2007 and signed with Rounder Records. They are the reigning three-time International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Entertainers of the Year, earning Vocal Group and Album of the Year honors along with the Entertainer title at the 2010 IBMA Awards in September 2010. Grammy-nominated and chart-topping (on both the Billboard Bluegrass and Country charts), the six-piece band suggests "a new dynasty may be taking shape in bluegrass music" (Wall Street Journal).

Dailey & Vincent will perform in Three Stages tonight, January 17, 2013 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $19-$29. Three Stages is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, Calif., facing East Bidwell Street.

In February 2011 the duo brought home seven trophies from the 37th Annual SPBGMA Bluegrass Music Awards, held at the Music City Sheraton in Nashville. Together they were honored for Bluegrass Band of the Year, Entertaining Group of the Year, and Album of the Year (for Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers). They also won their third consecutive awards for Vocal Group of the Year and Gospel Group of the Year/Contemporary. Additionally, Jamie Dailey was named Male Vocalist of the Year/Contemporary, and Darrin Vincent took home honors for Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year, their third consecutive wins in those categories. In December 2012 The Gospel Side of Dailey & Vincent received a nod from The Recording Academy for their annual GRAMMY Awards. The album is one of the nominees for "Bluegrass Album of the Year". When referring to this album, the Washington Post noted "The duo of Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent has cracked open the formalism of religious string-band music by reaching out to mainstream country and even some humor to create an irresistible album. Of course, it helps that their duet singing is prettier than just about anyone's."

Mr. Dailey grew up singing and playing with family and regional groups all over middle Tennessee and Kentucky, but gained national attention when he joined Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver in 1998 as lead, baritone and tenor singer. During Jamie's tenure, the band won 13 IBMA Awards-including seven Vocal Group of the Year awards and earned four Grammy and five of the prestigious Dove Award nominations. Jamie has recorded with Dolly Parton, appeared on five Gaither Homecoming DVD's, was a guest on Ricky Skaggs' Grammy-winning Brand New Strings album, as well as dozens of other guest performances and collaborations to his credit.

Mr. Vincent started singing at age three and playing music at age six as part of his family band, The Sally Mountain Show, along with Sister Rhonda Vincent. As a member of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder for more than 10 years, Darrin has won five Grammy Awards and eight IBMA Awards for Instrumental Group of the Year. He has performance and recording credits with dozens of artists including Dolly Parton, Nora Jones, Emmylou Harris, Earl Scruggs, Bruce Hornsby, Vince Gill, John Hartford, and many more. He also has producer credits on Grammy nominated projects with Rhonda Vincent, Susie Luchsinger, Cherryholmes, and Hunter Berry.

Also included in the group are Christian Davis (guitar, vocals), Jeff Parker (mandolin, guitar, vocals) B.J. Cherryholmes (fiddle) and, Jessie Baker (banjo, guitar).

Three Stages at Folsom Lake College presents touring artists from around the world; partners with the best regional arts organizations, and supports productions by FLC students and faculty.

Three Stages at Folsom Lake College is a $50 million performing and visual arts center that opened in February 2011. Located on the campus, Three Stages includes three intimate performance venues (850, 200, 100 seats), an art gallery, a recording studio, ample rehearsal and classroom space, a Full Service ticket office plus all the amenities of a state-of-the-art performance venue. Parking is free on weekends and for those buying tickets in advance.

A renaming of Three Stages is currently under way. The new name, Harris Center for the Arts, honors Dr. Brice Harris, Chancellor Emeritus of the Los Rios Community College District, for his many contributions to the Capital Region, including providing the vision and leadership that lead to the opening of this regional arts center.
