Austin Mahone Set for VMA 'Pop Up' Tour
MTV announced today the "VMA Pop-Up Tour" presented by Verizon will roll through various music festivals and concerts throughout New York leading up to and in celebration of the 2013 "MTV Video Music Awards." Traveling across the city via custom mobile truck, tour stops will provide fans and concert-goers with a fun and festive block party experience complete with VMA inspired music, trivia, games, premium prizes and more. Additionally, in the spirit of summer, popsicles will be handed out to fans. One lucky person at each stop with the winning stick will receive tickets to the 2013 "MTV Video Music Awards," which airs live on Sunday, August 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The "VMA Pop-Up Tour" presented by Verizon kicked off on Saturday, August 10 at Williamsburg Park in Brooklyn, NY at the Mad Decent Block Party. Mixing and mingling with the crowd, DJ Yoshi spun music from VMA nominated artists and attendees had the opportunity to take photos with this year's specially re-designed Moonman, re-imagined by world-renowned, Brooklyn-based artist KAWS.
Additional upcoming stops along the "VMA Pop Up-Tour" include the Jake Miller concert at Rye Playland on Friday, August 23 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the Austin Mahone concert at Coney Island in Brooklyn on Saturday, August 24, doors open at 2:00 p.m. Throughout the rest of this week fans are invited to follow the hashtag #VMAPopUp for more information about the "VMA Pop-Up Tour" including the truck, its whereabouts and opportunities to get tickets to the Austin Mahone concert on Saturday.
