After an amazing reaction last year in Australia to a "Source Tags" show,...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead have decided to embark on a short US run where the band will be playing Source Tags & Codes in its entirety alongside other career spanning songs. Support for the US trek comes from La Femme and Midnight Masseswho will each be joining the band for select shows along the tour. News of the US Source Tags & Codes run comes as Trail of Dead is about to enter the Sonic Ranch studio with producer and longtime collaborator Chris "Frenchie" Smith to start recording their ninth full-length studio album tentatively set for release this coming fall.
...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - originally formed in 1994 by childhood friends Conrad Keely (vocals, guitar, drums, piano) and Jason Reece (drums, vocals, guitar) - released Source Tags & Codes in February 2002. It was their third full-length studio album and earned them a perfect 10 in Pitchfork who described the album as "epic" and "utterly brilliant." They've since released five more studio albums including 2012'sLost Songs which had Pitchfork weighing in favorably again with an 8.0 writing, "...a golden opportunity to rediscover a band that had to get a little lost in order to find itself again." Trail of Dead - whose line-up now includes Autry Fulbright II (bass, vocals) and Jamie Miller (drums) - spent the better part of 2013 on the road touring Europe, Asia and Australia as well as the US. In addition to a summer headlining tour here, the band played the annual Pitchfork Festival in Chicago and was one of the last bands to play Hoboken's legendary Maxwell's - which officially closed on July 31st, 2013. The band also kicked off a PledgeMusic campaign for a Tao Of The Dead Part III EP in 2013 which they recently completed, delivering the digital release to the pledgers with the physical EP in the works for a February release.Videos
