After winning the American Idol crown in Season 7, David Cook went on to sell more than a million copies of his self-titled debut album and set out on a yearlong nationwide tour in support of his multiple hit singles. David is best known for "Light On", "Time of My Life" and "Come Back to Me". This passionately intense performer writes from a place of honesty and will headline at The Ridgefield Playhouse tonight, February 11, at 8 p.m. 850 Degrees Wood Fired Restaurant (424 Main St., Ridgefield) is offering a complimentary draft beer with dinner the night of this event when tickets/stubs are presented. Released in 2008, the album David Cook entered the Billboard charts at No. 3 and the digital album charts at No. 1, marking the best debut from an American Idol winner since 2006. Collectively the songs from David Cook have sold upwards of two million tracks and ringtones combined. Cook's coronation single, "The Time of My Life", was certified Platinum and is not only the biggest single debut but the highest selling coronation single in the history of American Idol. Cook's sophomore album This Loud Morning features tracks written/co-written by Cook along with many acclaimed songwriters including David Hodges, Ryan Tedder, Kevin Griffin and Marti Frederiksen.

David Cook has made multiple TV appearances on shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The American Music Awards, NBA All Star Game, MLB All Star Game, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Christmas at Rockefeller Center and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Cook shares his talents with various charities including Accelerated Brain Cancer Cure for which he has raised more than 3 million dollars for brain tumor research and funding. He also travelled to Kuwait and Iraq on the USO Tour and to the Biruh Tesfa School for girls in Ethiopia.
