2013 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS on Telemundo Delivers 1.3 Million Adults

Last night's exclusive broadcast of Telemundo's 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm" (8PM ET) averaged 1,309,000 adults 18 to 49, up 2% from last year's show according to Nielsen. Hosted by renowned television personalities Ana Barbara, Juan Soler and Daniel Sarcos and featuring top musical acts such as Daddy Yankee, Marc Anthony, Don Omar, Il Volo, Paulina Rubio and Wisin y Yandel, among many others, the live show delivered a cumulative audience of 3,214,000 adults 18 to 49, +3% growth versus last year.

On the digital front, the awards show ranked as the #1 broadcast network on the Top Daily TrendrrTV Broadcast Chart, out delivering by more than three times "Scandal" in ABC (219,245) and "American Idol" in FOX (205,701), with 794,746 social activities posted. In addition, Telemundo also ranked as the #2 broadcast network with the award's red carpet show garnering 409,074 social postings. In total, last night's red carpet and awards show broadcast generated over 1.2 million social interactions, +70% growth versus last year's show (794,000). Buzz about the show began to ramp up early in the day on Twitter, as #PremiosBillboard2013 was trending worldwide by 3pm ET and continued to trend generating eight other Worldwide Trending Topics throughout the night.

Telemundo.com delivered a total of over 600,000 unique visits across its multiple platforms (web, mobile, tablets) with over 1.3 million video streams and over 200,000 livestreams during Telemundo's red carpet, social reporter and backstage digital broadcasts, according to Omniture Sitecatalyst.

Locally, among adults 18-49, Telemundo's 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards was #1 in the time period across all stations regardless of language in New York and Miami; #2 in Houston outperforming all English language stations; and #3 in Los Angeles outperforming ABC and FOX. The broadcast delivered double-digit growth in Los Angeles (+16%), Houston (+23%), San Francisco (+25%) and Dallas (+41%), where it delivered its highest rating ever.

Top honors at the longest-running and most prestigious Latin music awards show went to music phenomenon and social media maven Don Omar who received ten Billboard Latin Music Awards, including Airplay Song of the Year, and Digital Song of the Year. The late Mexican regional superstar Jenni Rivera was honored posthumously with six awards including Artist of the Year; while singer/songwriter Prince Royce received four trophies including Albums Artist of the Year, Male. Winners of three awards include Shakira, La Arrolladora Banda el Limon de Rene Camacho, Natty Natasha and Romeo Santos, who was also the recipient of Telemundo's fan-voter award "Premio Tu Mundo.
