On November 26, 1986, the science fiction blockbuster Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home was released by Paramount Pictures. It was the fourth feature film based on the Star Trek science fiction television series and completed the story arc begun in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and continued in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Check out the original trailer for the film below!

Intent on returning home to Earth to face trial for their crimes, the former crew of the USS Enterprise finds the planet in grave danger from an alien probe attempting to contact now-extinct humpback whales. The crew travel to Earth's past to find whales who can answer the probe's call. 

The film starred William Shatner as James T. Kirk, former captain of the Enterprise. Leonard Nimoy, who directed the film plays Spock, DeForest Kelley portrays Doctor Leonard McCoy. The other members of the Enterprise crew includes George Takei as helmsman Hikaru Sulu, Walter Koenig as Commander Pavel Chekov, and Nichelle Nichols as Uhura.
