VIDEO: INTO THE WOODS' Anna Kendrick Says Performing for Sondheim: 'Was Great and Terrifying'

ET has shared an exclusive first look at an interview with Anna Kendrick featured in the the all-new Blu-ray combo pack of INTO THE WOODS, available on March 24th.

In the clip, the actress, who portrays Cinderella in Rob Marshall's big screen adaptation, explains the pressure of performing in front of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim. "It was great and terrifying to be in the recording studio and have Stephen Sondheim knock on the door in between takes and hand you freshly scribbled new lyrics--and I'm just singing them," Kendrick says of her big solo number, "On the Steps of the Palace." She recalls thinking, "I don't know what's happening right now. This is incredible."

INTO THE WOODS, a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, has received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture, comedy or musical as well as nods for Emily Blunt as Best Performance by an Actress Motion Picture Comedy or Musical and Meryl Streep as Best Supporting Actress. Streep also snagged a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role.

The humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy) - all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them. Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker behind the Academy Award-winning musical "Chicago" and Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: OnStranger Tides," helms the film, which is based on the Tony-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics.
