TMZ reports that TLC has cancelled its highly rated reality series HONEY BOO BOO after learning that June "Mama June" Shannon is currently dating Mark McDaniel, a convicted sex offender.

According to the report, an entire new season has already been shot but will most likely never air. "Supporting the healthy and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well being," the network told the website.

A source also revealed that TLC is planning to pick up expenses for for both tutors and counselors for the children.

McDaniel was released from prison in March after serving a 10 year sentence for molesting an 8-year-old, who is allegedly related to Mama June. He is currently registered as a sex offender in Georgia.

"Here Comes Honey Boo" features the family of former child beauty pageant contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. Thompson and her family originally rose to fame on TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras". The show is primarily filmed in and around their rural hometown of McIntyre, Georgia.
