The all-female GHOSTBUSTERS reboot may officially happen, after all.

According to Deadline, BRIDESMAIDES director Paul Feig's deal on the film is dry, and sources have confirmed that his 'HEAT' co-writer Katie Dippold will pen the script.

Bill Murray, who would never commit either way towards the project during its long-development cycle, recently told The Toronto Star: "I'm fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too." He went on to reveal who he would chose for his dream cast. "Melissa (McCarthy) would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny - God, she's funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini ("Mad Men") a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Feig is currently directing SPY, also lead by HEAT star Melissa McCarthy, which also features Allison Janney, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson and Miranda Hart.

The newest incarnation of the film will reportedly center on the newest generation of GHOSTBUSTERS and will feature cameos from the franchise's original stars . The GHOSTBUSTERS film, originally about unemployed parapsychology professors who become a ghost removal agency, has had three different movies and a cartoon series.
