Deadline writes that Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to join the film adaptation of MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, directed by Tim Burton.

Jane Goldman adapted 'PECULIAR CHILDREN' from Ransom Rigg's 2011 novel, described as: "A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience."

Jackson will join PENNY DREADFUL's Eva Green as Miss Peregrine and HUGO's Asa Butterfield as Jacob, the book's protagonist. Jackson will play 'Barron', who plays a key part in the story.

Jackson's other upcoming big screen projects include Cell, Barely Lethal, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tarzan, The Hateful Eight and Nick Fury. His recent films include Kingsman: The Secret Service, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, RoboCop, Reasonable Doubt, Oldboy, Django Unchained and more.

The actor has appeared on Broadway in The Mountaintop and The Piano Lesson, as well as a number of productions off-Broadway in the '80s and '90s.

The movie will hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
