According to Deadline, Ryan Gosling is currently in negotations to star in Alcorn Entertainment's upcoming BLADE RUNNER sequel. Denis Villeneuve will direct, with Ridley Scott executive producing.

The film will be penned by Hampton Fancher alongside original co-writer Michael Green.

No details on the exact plot - or Gosling's character - have been revealed. It was confirmed last year that Harrison is officially on board to reprise his role in the original film.

BLADE RUNNER depicted a dystopian Los Angeles in November 2019 in which genetically engineered organic robots called replicants, which are visually indistinguishable from adult humans, are banned for use on Earth. Replicants are exclusively used for dangerous, menial, or leisure work on off-world colonies. Replicants who defy the ban and return to Earth are hunted down and "retired" by special police operatives known as "Blade Runners".

Gosling's past film projects include Only God Forgives, Gangster Squad, The Place Beyond the Pines, The Ides of March, Crazy, Stupid, Love., Drive, Blue Valentine, Half Nelson, The Notebook, Remember the Titans and more.
