Arrow Video has announced that George A. Romero's lost action classic Knightriders will make its UK DVD debut & worldwide Blu-ray debut on Monday 22nd April.

Specially restored by Arrow, the deluxe edition of Knightriders will include both DVD and Blu-ray copies of the film, along with a host of special features and collector's items. Read the online press release, containing a full synopsis, trailer and special features here.

Made immediately after his zombie classic "Dawn of the Dead", Romero's Knightriders is both clearly the work of the same director, as well as a marked change of tone. There's still plenty of action, but rather than flesh eating maniacs, the film features medieval jousters riding modern-day motorcycles.

Starring Ed Harris (Apollo 13, The Truman Show) in his first-ever leading role, Knightriders depicts a troupe of travelling entertainers, trying to live their lives according to the ideals of King Arthur. Their medieval values prove increasingly difficult to uphold in Reagan's America, where the outside world and its financial realities constantly encroach on their dreams.
