While Matthew Crawley may no longer reside at 'Downton Abbey', his alter ego, actor Dan Stevens, may soon be seen walking the streets of New York City according to Variety. The 'Heiress' star is currently in talks to join the cast of Scott Frank's upcoming film A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES opposite Liam Neeson.

The film, with a screenplay adapted by Frank, is based on the novel by Lawrence Block. It centers on "an ex-NYPD officer, Neeson, who is now serving as a private investigator who is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He soon finds out the perpetrators have done this before, resulting in several murders." No details yet on the role Stevens would take on.

Cross Creek Pictures and Exclusive Media will co-finance and produce, with Universal distributing domestically. Production on the film is set to begin next month.

Stevens recently made his Broadway debut opposite Jessica Chastain in 'The Heiress.' The show's run ended on Saturday, February 9th. He is currently filming DreamWorks "The Fifth Estate", co-starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
