CABARET's Michelle Williams on B'way Debut: 'I Didn't Know What Was Going to Happen'
In an interview with today's Variety, Cabaret star Michelle Williams spoke about making her musical Broadway debut in the iconic role of Cabaret singer Sally Bowles in the classic Kander and Ebb production which opened last night at the Kit Kat Klub at Studio 54 on Broadway.
"I didn't know what was going to happen," said Williams of the experience. "I had no training for it. But that's very Sally Bowles, in a way."
Yesterday, the Roundabout Theater Company announced that the show would extend until January with Williams and her co-star Alan Cumming in the lead roles. Williams says that it is nice to have a break from her more traditional filmmaking career. "I'm happy to go to work every day," she shared. "I really like my office!"
